Jim has been a full time resident of Cape May for over 20 years, having moved here from Runnemede in Camden County, N.J. Jim is very active in his community. He has served as Treasurer and member of the Board of Directors of the Center for Community Arts (CCA), a local organization that provides arts programming for members of the community, but with an emphasis on targeting "at-risk" youth. CCA is also raising the funds and organizing the Rehabilitation of the Franklin Street School, a project to save an important, historical building in the City of Cape May. The Franklin Street School is a vital link to the community's segregated history, having served as the African-American school before desegregation. This building, currently in very distressed condition, is being totally renovated and restored to memorialize this history and also to offer a home to CCA's arts programming for the community. Please visit CCA's website for more information.

Jim currently serves on CCA's finance and building committees. Jim also has served on the City of Cape May's Planning Board for 6 years among many other activities in town. Jim currently is the Secretary of the Atlantic/Cape Chapter of the National Association of Independent Fee Appraisers.
